Talking Golf: “270m drive is never a dream…..”

Long is great! Ability to drive the ball far is no longer for show, golfers of this generation are just too aware of the advantages of sending their tee-drive long. How long? Well, I would consider 270m (295 yd) a good distance to work on. Power driving relies much on ones’ ability to achieve “Maximum Power Leakage Prevention” along your swing path. Fundamentally, power leakage prevention can be achieved if the following sequence of events occur correctly, they are:

  1. At address, use the tee-up ball position as the reference marker to turn your Left Shoulder behind the tee-up ball at your fullest shoulder on top of your back swing, this motion helps to load power onto the right side,
  2. Through address, the first 1m of the take away must be slow and maintain a quiet wrists to achieve a slow wind-up of potential for powerful unleash,
  3. Start power unleash with body motion first then follow by the arms, fire hip rotates toward target as fast as possible with hip rotation plane parallel to the ground, i.e. as flat as you can,
  4. Through power unleash, keep the club head lagging behind the rotating action of hip (first) and shoulder (second) till impact with ball,
  5. Through the swing, maintain fluid rhythm and strong tempo.
Positive note: Think power, stand strong and charge-up your body with motion and emotion (just like a tennis player doing spot-jumping while preparing to return serve from opponent) before tee-up to induce power into your drive. “270m drive is reality!”
